Course Introduction
Welcome to the Beyond Radio Volunteer Handbook and Training Course.
This handbook sets out the policies, procedures, rules and guidance that all volunteers are expected to understand and follow whilst representing Beyond Radio.
As a licensed community radio station, we operate within a framework of rules and regulations that govern broadcasting in the United Kingdom. These requirements form part of our broadcasting licence and help ensure that our output remains legal, responsible, inclusive and of the highest possible standard. Throughout this course, you will learn about these responsibilities and how they apply to your role as a volunteer.
All volunteers are required to complete this training when they join Beyond Radio and then undertake the course annually as a refresher. This helps ensure that everyone remains up to date with station procedures, broadcasting regulations and best practice.
You should allow approximately 30 minutes to work through the course materials. Once you have completed the training, you will be asked to take a short knowledge check to confirm your understanding of the content. A successful pass is required to complete the course.
Volunteers must successfully complete this training before they are permitted to broadcast on-air or undertake any presenter duties on behalf of Beyond Radio.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this training and for helping us continue to provide local radio for Lancaster and Morecambe Bay.
